The Stepping Stones program is part of the evidence-based Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) and is proven to reduce behavior problems in children. This particular series has a focus on communication, problem-solving, self-care, and self-regulation.
From the beginning to the end of the series, there was a significant decrease in the intensity of child misbehavior. Five participants were above the Intensity Scale clinical cut point at pre-test compared to two at post-test on the ECBI (Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory).
"I am so thankful that the Autism Society of Southern Arizona has put on a free Stepping Stones Training class for our community. Before getting a diagnosis parents are often in the dark with how to cope with problem behaviors and this class was so helpful in filling that gap. I loved how interactive the program is and how it has helped me address behaviors I am seeing in my child right now." Michele, parent in the Stepping Stones program.
The program involves 12 group sessions, and 3 individual telephone consultations to assist parents to refine the use of their parenting skills and develop independent problems solving skills. Sign up for the next class that starts on February 4th.
